Tigers, piranhas to join crocodile guards at proposed Indonesian 'prison island' for drug traffickers

In an idea that seemed to come straight out of a James Bond film, Budi Waseso this week unveiled the prison island plan, explaining that crocodiles cannot be bribed by drug traffickers seeking to escape jail.

He embarked on a tour of the country to find "the most ferocious type of crocodile" to guard the jail, which is to be for drug convicts who have been sentenced to death.

The head of the national anti-drugs agency has faced widespread mockery over the plan.

But Mr Waseso appeared far from backing down on Friday, saying that he was considering the addition of man-eating piranhas and tigers as guards.

"It is also possible we may use piranhas, and because the number of personnel at the prison might not be enough, we can also use tigers," he was cited as saying in local reports.

Indonesia already has some of the toughest anti-narcotics laws in the world, including death by firing squad for traffickers.

The country sparked international uproar in April when it put to death seven foreign drug convicts, including Australian Bali Nine duo Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

But president Joko Widodo has insisted that drug dealers must face death as the country is fighting a "national emergency" due to rising narcotics use.

Despite the harsh laws, Indonesia's corrupt prison system is awash with drugs, and inmates and jail officials are regularly arrested for narcotics offences.

Anti-drugs agency spokesman Slamet Pribadi confirmed Mr Waseso was also weighing the possibility of tigers and piranhas as guards, and hit back at suggestions the prison island plan was a joke.

"This is serious, this is not a joke," Mr Pribadi said.

"Drug trafficking is an extraordinary crime and therefore the fight must also be extraordinary, we cannot fight the usual way."

The idea is still in the early stages, and the agency is in discussions with the justice ministry about it.

Neither a location nor a potential opening date has been decided.

First thing I think about is whether the piranhas are invasive species or not. What I know is they are freshwater fishes but they are aggressive that they attack humans so aggressive is close to invasive. The parent piranhas may not survive the saltwater but there are estuaries where the freshwater and seawater meet so there is a chance they survive there and their offspring can wander into the ocean. What are the effects on the ecosystem when you introduce a new specie?

In the Amazon, the circle of life is the continuing battle between the piranha and the heron. When it is rainy season, the herons which is lost on the waters is the piranhas attack them. When the rivers dry out, the herons feed on the piranhas which are caught on dry land.

I think the sea is enough wall that the prisoners cannot escape. I am talking about Alcatraz and Château d'If. How often are prison breaks reported here?

My aunt actually is an excellent swimmer that when she was in a passenger ship traveling halfway between islands when there was trouble that the ship might sink. Story has it that she swam the length of it to the shore. Its because she was trusted to deliver a bagful of money, so she taped the money into her body and jumped to the sea. Swimmers need to practice swimming.

I would say the chances of prisoners doing a Houdini and then swimming coast to coast is a remote possibility. However they can be picked up by a boat which means they should have outside connection. Even then, its still a high risk.

Rather than killing people is that the government should make them productive that they can raise plants and livestock in the island and have a multi-cooperative system of profiting so they earn for themselves and their family. Being in prison does not mean they are of no use. And as I have said, the lifetime of suffering is the capital punishment.

Fighting Pride

This is a sibling rivalry. Parents leave inheritance to their children so they both have rights to this land. The law is firm but fair. As it is, the religion of Palestine is Islam and Israel is predominantly Jewish. The best thing to do is make a referendum cause you cannot solve this with clashes. Because we should not force a person to be a Palestinian or an Israeli. We do not know the real situation there but I can assume that people are influenced by fear, convenience and ignorance.

I would suggest that they talk to each other and make a settlement. You are stagnating because of war. How can you learn where you worry about your safety and food? To settle it is make a demarcation line because when they mingle is when the fights happen. So when it is settled, build a wall. A physical wall. You tear down the wall when both parties are agreeable to each other.

Good match making is making sure both fighters are safe. When one fighter is outmatched is the referee errs on the side of caution and stop the fight.

The win-win solution is that the Palestinians and Israelis who are all for peace will communicate to each other.

You can have as many material possessions you like, but not in excess. Because materials things do not feel anything. They cannot feel pain when you leave them. They cannot feel pain when you throw them around. Punch it, kick it, batter it, it doesn't feel anything. You like to hit people that is helpless? You are a coward. Find your match and kick his butt.

What happens when a man has more than one wife?

Hey guys what is radical islam? I think radical means extreme. There must be a left and a right extremist islam, right? Because extremes requires range. So there is peaceful islam and violent islam. In the same way there are peaceful christians and violent christians. In short there are peaceful persons and violent persons.

I think that the media should be fair that they also talk about peaceful islam. When we compare the peaceful and the violent, we know where the differences arise. When we know the differences we can come up with solutions. I do not know this until now. So the Indians and the Jews have their festivals of lights. The USA also has Thanksgiving. The Muslims should have their festival of lights as their tradition too. Tradition is not about religion okay? To progress is to discard the negative traditions. Manila Is Mad At Claire Danes

President Joseph Estrada of the Philippines, a former movie star, said he believes Hollywood actress Claire Danes should be banned from entering the Philippines for having disparaged the country's capital.

"She should not be allowed to come here. She should not even be allowed to set foot here," Estrada said Thursday in reaction to a decision by Manila's city council Tuesday to declare Danes "persona non grata" and ban all her movies from being shown in the city.

In an interview in Vogue magazine in April, Danes described Manila as a "ghastly and weird city."

More recently, she was quoted in Premiere magazine as saying Manila "smelled of cockroaches, with rats all over, and that there is no sewerage system, and the people do not have anything - no arms, no legs, no eyes."

Danes, who appeared in the movies Romeo and Juliet, Little Women, and The Rainmaker, was in Manila for several months early this year to shoot scenes for the movie Brokedown Palace. Most of the sequences shot in Manila were done inside a dilapidated hospital.

"Her remarks were uncalled for," Estrada said.

Councilor Kim Atienza, principal author of the resolution and a son of Manila's mayor, said the ban will continue indefinitely until Danes makes a public apology. The council passed the resolution 23-3.

Last week, Danes said in a statement that she meant no disrespect to Filipino people.

"Because of the subject matter of our film Brokedown Palace, the cast was exposed to the darker and more impoverished places of Manila. My comments in Premiere magazine only reflect those locations, not my attitude towards the Filipino people. They were nothing but warm, friendly, and supportive," she said.

Atienza dismissed the statement as an "excuse made by Hollywood press officers and not a genuine apology."

"We are not hard to appease, but we know if an apology is true or not,"he added. "We will lift the ban only if we are satisfied."

This is not about me because I'm not autistic. If anything, I would say that Claire Danes over-promoted her "break-out film" that she forgets how to be sensitive. This is an apology. Peace y'all.

After graduation I worked with one of top construction companies here where I done mostly office work and documentation. After two years I get bored so I resigned. I was in and out of jobs since. I worked as a property appraiser as I tole you, I supervised work on retail stores, hospital building, fabrication shop, on vacant lots and inside the malls. Then I get to work abroad where I learned a lot because they expected a lot from me. I learned surveying and soil layers because the surveyors was always with me. We plotted the building lines for many projects. And my most recent one is worked with my own crews, constructing concrete structures and I get the crash course in airport engineering in which there is subsoil prep for asphalt.

What I am saying is the students they can learn from me that they can cut short the learning process. Know what you want so you be more productive and successful than I am.

Working for employers is stressful so learn the basics and be your own boss. Its an irony that I work in construction when I love to plant. We need roads in order that the produce from the rural provinces are delivered to the market places and for the basic services like hospitals and communication to be available to the people.

What I do is imagine myself as the center of a star system so I imagine myself as a star and moving around me are the planets or women to be clear about it. Women that I know that we have attraction for each other. I do not know what you can learn from this except that attraction is natural.

So I write my initials at the center and write the initials of the women and put them into orbits with varying degree of closeness. What I notice is that my diagram changes from day to day. Say one woman is here, next day she's there.

I think psychosomatic is like overthinking which is negative because it consumes time and its not productive because there is nothing you can do about the truth. So when you think positive is that you are driven by adrenaline which is under thinking for lack of better word because this is reflex action. So if a star does not have planets revolving around it, they burn out much faster, explodes in a supernova and becomes a black hole. When explosions go off, it needs oxygen to explode. So it is logical that supernovas draws in the "dark matter" and the black holes are just the after effects. We feel vibrations in explosions, what is the "vibration" in supernovas? The dark matter is what fuels the stars, in our solar system is in a slow burn. Hey guys, just throwing in ideas. Or to sound more expert, I throw in "theories". It does make sense that the planets help distribute the dark matter to the star.

Care, no matter what is the motto of Planned Parenthood. I often hear about this on television so I looked it up. I think that if you plan to be responsible parents then you will not abort your child/children. When you draw a plan is you stick to the plan as much is possible because the planned is your ideal thinking. Unplanned pregnancies, and consequently abortion to some people, is the result of people who are not prepared to be parents, of forced marriages and rape.

The obvious solution is you educate and prepare women for pregnancy and for men to man up and take responsibility for it. Are you prepared to stay with each other through good times and bad times? Women should also be protected from criminals and predators. Have the bad guys punished.

For the woman, are you in it only for the good times only? Most men would not refuse sex. If you are sure the man will stay with you even in the bad times, why not get married? If you are not sure then what are you doing? You should be looking for the man who's in it for marriage. Why? I know marriage is a piece of paper but it binds the couple for more discipline and commitment.

The "bad times" for the woman is when she gets fat when they get pregnant and gives birth to child/children and taking care of the household. For the man works in order that his family live comfortably and its a bad time when he struggles to make a living. So for the husband and wife to have a strong bond, there must be things that attracts them to each other more than the beauty and the finances.

I have elementary knowledge about Chess and strategies. I am not good in this at all. But let me talk about what I think the pieces signify. The King moves in one space in all directions.
